Smith’s Cleaner & Toughener, “CT-8” is a dual purpose product designed for the preparation of concrete surfaces to receive Smith’s Colour Floor. Initially, CT-8 acts as a detergent to clean the concrete surface. Secondly, CT-8 toughens the surface of the concrete by interacting with weak spots created by un-reacted calcium hydroxide. CT-8 is biodegradable but should not be discharged as a powder or an undiluted cleaning solution directly into streams, ponds, lakes, etc.

This product is a blend of silicates used as an additive to Smith's Colour Floor and/or Smith's Colour Wall to promote substrate adhesion for base or primary colours as well as increase the stains durability. Smith's Colour Floor and Colour Wall stains already achieve superior mechanical adhesion as a result of the modified acrylic carrier, but adding Base Boost into the Smith's Concentrate produces an additional bond by reacting with the unhydrated calcium hydroxide found in the concrete . Smith's Base Boost should not be used for application to overlays, previously coated substrates, or as an additive for highlight colours.

This product is a clear gel developed as a dilutant for Smith's Colour Floor and/or Smith's Colour Wall when installations require crisp lines and product control. Simply mix the Control Gel with Smith's Colour Floor/Colour Wall concentrate to achieve the desired colour transparency. Apply the ready to use gelled stain via foam brush, sea sponge, towel or traditional bristle brush to a properly prepared substrate.
